The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Greater Cumberland, at 222 South Lee Street will hold its annual “Handcrafted With Love” artisan gift fair on Saturday, December 6th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There’s something for everyone on your holiday shopping list. Fiber artists, candles, jewelry, suncatchers, gnomes, and more will be available. Local author Seamus Muir will be signing his books. There will also be a bake sale. It’s a great way to shop local. Jaycces Seeking Donations for Christmas Shopping Tour
Shopping Tour is Saturday, December 13, 2025
The Western Maryland Jaycees are gearing up for their annual holiday event, the Christmas Shopping Tour on Saturday, December 13th. The event serves children who might not be eligible for other programs, but are still very much in need. They are reaching out to the community for support and donations. Any donation, no matter the size, will go a long way in helping them reach their goal of helping 30 children at this year’s event. The 22nd Storybook Holiday will feature all of the experiences we have come to know and love! Breakfast with the Elves, the author presentation (this year’s featured author is Kristin Kladstrup with her book “The Gingerbread Pirates”), Elf Olympics, crafts in the Elves’ Secret Workshop, the Holiday parade will be kicked off by a Mountain City Center for the Arts performance in front of the Gunter and the “Run your Bells off for Autism” fun run at 10:30 will lead the parade down Main Street. The Frostburg Library hosts storybook readings with a craft, the festival of trees at City Place and finishing the night with a classic holiday movie played at the Frostburg Palace Theatre! QC STRIDERS AND FHS CROSS COUNTRY JINGLE RUN

Frankfort High School’s cross country teams will sponsor their 21st annual Jingle 5K run and kid’s mile on Saturday Dec. 13th, 2025 beginning at 9am at Fort Ashby Primary School. Registration is from 7:30 to 8:30am. The race will start at Fort Ashby Primary School and run on Dan’s Run Road. A Kid’s mile will immediately follow the 5K. Registration is $20. T-shirts are available to all pre-registered participants and while supplies last. Awards are given to top three runners in each age group and ribbons given to all children 10 and under. Sines Family Christmas Light Show
Now through the first week of January
The Sines Family Light Show in Finzel is going on now through the first week in January, from 5 to 10 p.m. daily. The show is free to the public, featuring “singing” light bulbs, a giant pixel tree with pictures and animation, along with music and conversation, all in the comfort of your car. Tune to the radio to listen or listen live with outdoor speakers. The show lasts approximately 25 minutes. If you missed last year’s show, watch it on Throwback Tuesdays. The light show is located at 1248 Finzel Road in Frostburg. Take exit 29 pm I-68. Going West, turn right off of the exit and travel one mile. The house and parking are on the right. Frankfort District Water and Sewer Rate Hike Public Hearing
December 16, 2025 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Mineral County Commission is holding a public meeting, concerning the proposed rate hikes on water and sewer, 20.3% and 10.2%, respectively. The Frankfort Public Service District is invited to answer complaints and concerns of the district’s customers and address the $32 million debt.
