JCPenney is shutting its doors at the Charleston Town Center Mall after a 41-year run. The store, which opened with the mall back in 1983, will close permanently on May 25th. Shoppers are expressing concerns about the mall’s future, with many noting it’s becoming increasingly empty. The Hull Property Group, which bought the mall in 2021, has already demolished the former Sears and Macy’s buildings, leaving the mall without any remaining anchor stores.
