SURVIVOR’S COMMITTEE, ARCHDIOCESE WORK TOWARD ABUSE COMPENSATION

The Archdiocese of Baltimore and the survivors committee continue to work together in the archdiocese’s bankruptcy case toward the goal of compensating as many sex abuse victims as possible. Paul Jan Zdunek, who chairs the creditor’s committee of survivors and Archbishop William Lori held a press conference Monday, ahead of the mediation process. The archdiocese filed for bankruptcy just days before the Child Victims Act took effect last year, eliminating the statute of limitations on child sexual abuse claims. The mediation process could take more than a year.
