A new poll finds the race to succeed Maryland U.S. Senator Ben Cardin is a dead heat between Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks and Congressman David Trone. The poll from Emerson College shows Alsobrooks leads the Democratic primary by just one point over Trone, 42-to-41 percent. In the Republican primary, former Governor Larry Hogan leads, but he trails both Alsobrooks and Trone in hypothetical general election matchups. Cardin is retiring from the Senate.
