MARYLAND JOBLESS CLAIMS DROP

The number of first-time claims for unemployment dropped during the first week of May in Maryland.  The U.S. Labor Department reports about 21-hundred state residents sought jobless benefits in the week ending May 4th.  That’s a drop of nearly 200 from the previous week.  Nationally, there were 231-thousand first-time unemployment claims, up about 22-thousand over the prior week.
