NEW PA. REPORT SHOWS POTENTIAL BENEFIT OF LEGALIZED POT

A new report by the state’s Independent Fiscal Office says legalized marijuana could bring in more than a billion dollars in tax revenue. The study shows adult-use marijuana could generate 41-million-dollars for General Fund revenue if sales begin in January 2025. That number would increase to 185-million in the next fiscal year and surpass 250-million every year after that. Legalized adult sales still need to be approved by the state legislature. Currently, five of Pennsylvania’s six neighboring states have some form of legalized marijuana.
