FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO COVER 90 PER CENT OF REBUILDING BRIDGE

The federal government may cover 90-percent of the cost to rebuild the Francis Scott Key bridge in Baltimore. Maryland Senator Maryland Chris Van Hollen said reconstruction would be paid for through the Federal Highway Administration’s emergency fund. The state sent a letter to the federal government about its intent to use money from that fund.  But Maryland lawmakers are still waiting for a full cost assessment before they ask Congress to act.
