The Pennsylvania State House on Wednesday approved legislation that would require state agencies to help ex-convicts get identification once they’re released from prison. Supporters of the measure say having an ID helps people that have been in prison attain basic needs like housing, employment, medical care and banking. House Bill 1601 now goes to the Senate for consideration.
