JUDGE RULES SURVIVORS CAN TESTIFY IN ARCHDIOCESE BANKRUPTCY CASE

A federal bankruptcy judge has ruled that survivors will be allowed to testify in the Archdiocese of Baltimore bankruptcy case.  Judge Michelle Harner ruled yesterday the court will hold status conferences April eighth and May 20th to increase engagement in the case but that nothing said at those hearings will be considered evidence.  The Archdiocese filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last fall before a new Maryland law took effect that lifted the statute of limitations for civil lawsuits related to child sex abuse.  Hundreds of survivors are expected to file lawsuits against the Archdiocese.
