PA. SENIOR U.S. SENATOR SUPPORTS MEASURE TO STEM RISING TIDE OF FENTANYL

Pennsylvania’s senior U.S. Senator is supporting federal legislation to give state and federal law-enforcement personnel the tools needed to stem the tide of fentanyl deaths across the nation.  According to a spokesperson, a bill put forth by Senator Bob Casey would authorize five billion dollars in federal spending to fund more law enforcement and support staff at the nation’s southern border.  The measure reportedly would also fund technology that can scan vehicles and cargo for traces of the dangerous narcotic.  A staffer says Senator Casey expects the measure to pass next week.
