The annual Cumberland tree lighting ceremony takes place Friday at Canal Place Plaza on Canal Street. The festivities begin at 5 p.m. and will end with the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. Also, the Cumberland New Year’s Eve celebration will take place on December 31st at 10:30 p.m., also at Canal Place Plaza. Countdown to 2024 will include the annual ball drop, giveaways and fireworks at midnight.
