Maryland tourism is bouncing back from a pandemic lull. New numbers from the Maryland Department of Commerce show more than 43-and-a-half-million people visited the state last year and spent more than 19-million dollars, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. The report also found that tourism is Maryland’s tenth largest private-sector employer and supports more than 187-thousand jobs. Marketing campaigns are credited with driving an increase in overnight visitors, which jumped 15-percent to 17-point-six-million last year.
