MOSBY TRIAL UNDERWAY IN BALTIMORE

Both the prosecution and the defense began laying out their positions this morning at the trial of former Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby.  Mosby is accused of lying to obtain a COVID hardship withdrawal from a city retirement account to buy vacation homes.  Assistant U.S. Attorney Sean Delaney argued Mosby withdrew money from the retirement account to buy two homes in Florida — and not because she suffered financial problems because of the pandemic, as required under terms of her city retirement account.  The defense said Mosby needed the money to help her travel business survive the pandemic.
