Maryland State Senator Mike McKay says the Maryland Board of Public Works has approved spending for several projects in Allegany and Garrett counties. Locally, the Board approved $13,500 for gutters and downspout of Barton Parks, which will help reduce flooding and increase useage. American Hardwood Industries, LLC was awarded a contract for a timber sale, in the amount of just under $87,500. In Garrett County, the Oakland Cemetery Monuments Restoration Project has been approved to receive $75,000 in grants. The Board also approved a sale of timber to Sisler Lumber, in the amount of $127,630.
