PA,. HOUSE SENDS GOVERNOR BILL TO HELP HOSPITALS, NURSING HOMES, AND AMBULANCE SERVICES

The Pennsylvania State House has approved a budget-related bill that would financially help hospitals, nursing homes and ambulance services. House Bill 1351 passed the House by a 199-to-4 vote after it also previously passed in the Senate unanimously. It will allow the state to provide a little more than 63-million-dollars in new revenue and allow new resources for the EMS statewide network. The funds would start January 1st and last through the end of the 2023-24 Fiscal Year. The legislation also reauthorizes the state’s hospital assessment, which triggers matching federal funding. The nursing home reimbursement rate would match the rate used in 2022-23.
