A Hagerstown man has pleaded guilty to federal charge that he submitted fraudulent applications for coronavirus relief funds. Prosecutors say 47-year-old Jeffrey Bearden submitted paperwork for a federal Paycheck Protection Program loan, indicating his consulting company had 19 employees. Bearden was accused of immediately transferring the loan money of over 700-thousand-dollars from his company account after receiving the funds in May of 2020. He will be sentenced in January.
