A lawsuit to try to keep Donald Trump’s name off the ballot in West Virginia may be settled by the Attorney General’s Office. The lawsuit was filed by a write-in presidential candidate from Texas, John Anthony Castro. Similar suits have been filed in other states to block the former president, pointing to the Civil War-era 14th Amendment which was written to keep those who “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the government from holding office.
