Maryland State Schools Superintendent Mohammed Choudhury will not be seeking a new contract. His current deal runs out in June of next year and he told the state Board of Education today that he plans to move on. Choudhury had been under fire from dozens of former department employees for creating a toxic work culture, but the Board of Ed released a statement saying it was grateful for his leadership. Plans for a national search for his successor will be discussed when the Board meets again on the 26th.
