Despite less-than-ideal weather, more than a half-million visitors turned out for this year’s Maryland State Fair. Organizers say 518-thousand fairgoers braved the heat and the rain over its three-weekend run. The Maryland State Fair and Agricultural Society also handed out college scholarships totaling 31-thousand dollars.
