The number of people seeking jobless benefits is down for the fifth straight week in Maryland. The latest figures from the U.S. Labor Department show about 19-hunded initial applications for unemployment insurance were filed last week. That’s down by nearly 240 from the previous week. Nationally, 216-thousand newly unemployed Americans sought benefits, marking the lowest number since February.
