Starting soon there will be quite an out of the way detour on US Route 340 near Harpers Ferry. The work will begin on September 12th to shore up a rockslide area. The detour is expected to be in place until mid-December. The route around the project is 22 miles long, and involves West Virginia Route 9, and Virginia State Routes 671 and nine.
