CHILD DIES IN ROUTE 28 CRASH

A seven-year-old boy was killed in a two vehicle, head-on collision Tuesday afternoon in Fort Ashby. Keyser resident Carla Taylor crossed the center line of Route 28 and struck a vehicle driven by Kyle Shank, who had his 11-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son in the vehicle with him. Shank and his daughter were flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown for treatment, while Ms. Taylor and her passenger, Paul Taylor, were transported to UPMC-Western Maryland for treatment of serious injuries. Units responding to the scene included the Mineral County Sheriff’s Department, along with fire and rescue crews from fort Ashby, Short Gap, Fountain and Wiley Ford.
