MARYLAND JOBLESS APPLICATIONS DIP

Maryland is seeing another dip in initial unemployment claims.  The U.S. Labor Department reports about 17-hundred new claims were filed for the week ending last Saturday.  That’s down from close to 21-hundred the previous week.  Nationally, applications for jobless benefits fell by 22-thousand last week, to 242-thousand.   The state and metropolitan area unemployment rates for the month of April are due to be released on Friday.
