HIGHER WATER, TRASH BILLS EXPECTED FOR CUSTOMERS

Higher water and trash bills may be on the horizon for customers. During a presentation of the proposed fiscal 2024 Cumberland budget, water and trash funds both show negative cash flows; other expenses and deficits, such as the prices of electricity, fuel oil, natural gas and gasoline prices, will also have to be addressed. Capital improvements, including $9 million for Baltimore, McMullen, Marion, Fayette and the Cumberland Street bridges are also on the radar.
