The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a pavement improvement project today on Route 219, the Garrett Highway, between Maryland Route 42 and Pysell Road. The work includes patching, milling, paving, and adding new pavement markings. Motorists can expect single-lane closures, guided by a flagging operation, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The work is expected to be completed by the end of May, weather permitting.
