PENN STATE SAYS GOVERNOR’S 7% PROPOSED INCREASE WOULD BE HELPFUL

Penn State’s president says a spending increase proposed for the university would indicate a new partnership with the state. In a statement late last week, President Neeli Bendapudi says the 17-million-dollar hike would be the first time in three years that the school would receive a general support appropriation.  Bendapudi is scheduled to appear before both chambers’ appropriations committees starting next week to discuss the university’s funding with lawmakers.
