Some Maryland taxpayers may have to wait for their state tax refunds this spring while the state comptroller’s staff works through delays caused by a systems outage. The week-long outage was resolved today. It prevented office staff from processing tax returns, refund requests and direct debit requests. The outage is blamed on a data filing system that became too full and temporarily shut down part of the tax filing system. State officials estimate the system will be completely up-to-date and processing requests by next Wednesday, March 22nd.
