One of the omissions from the legislative session was a bill to tackle the shortage of correction officers. In Governor Justice’s State-of-the-State address in January he had called on lawmakers to pass a bill to provide pay increases for those working in jails and prisons. Justice hoped that more money would lure more people to sign up for the line of work.
