Governor Wes Moore has announced nearly 9-million-dollars in 2022 tax credits to help Marylanders pay off their student loan debts. The tax credit will be claimed on qualified residents’ state tax returns this year. Under state law, recipients must submit proof of payment to the Maryland Higher Education Commission documenting that the tax credit was used to pay down the student loan.
