GOVERNOR TESTIFIES IN FAVOR OF MINIMUM WAGE BOOST

Governor Wes Moore says Maryland’s lowest-paid workers can’t wait until 2025 for a 15-dollar minimum wage.  Moore’s comments came as he testified before a Maryland Senate committee in favor of the Fair Wage Act.  Under the governor’s plan, the minimum wage would jump to 15-dollars starting this October, instead of 2025 under current law.  Future increases would also be tied to the rate of inflation.
