One of the most prominent notes is for state Senator Doug Mastriano, who’s chairing a Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee to scrutinize the handling of a Norfolk Southern train derailment. The state’s campaign finance reports show that he received two 500-dollar donations from the company’s PAC in 2020 when he was running for Senate. The reports also show the PAC made donations to key members of the Transportation Committees in both the Senate and House in recent years.
