WVU STUDENT GROUP ANNOUNCES OPPOSITION TO CAMPUS CARRY BILL

A student group at West Virginia University is speaking out about a bill pending in the state legislature that would let students and staff carry concealed weapons on West Virginia campuses.  The proposal passed the Senate last month and it has been introduced to the House judiciary.  Yesterday, the group called West Virginia’s Advocates held a news conference on campus to voice its opposition to the bill.  Some students said West Virginia should pay more attention to mental health first before allowing students and staff on campus to be able to carry concealed weapons.
