MOORE DELIVERS STATE OF THE STATE ADDRESS

Maryland is a state where the opportunities are boundless, but the challenges are undeniable.  That’s what Governor Wes Moore said this afternoon during his State of the State address.  During the speech, Moore promoted the creation of the Department of Service and Civic Promotion to recruit volunteers to tackle problems in the state.  State lawmakers still have to approve the program, which would be the nerve center for state-run volunteer programs in Maryland.  The new governor also talked about the need to address teacher and state government worker shortages and ending child poverty in Maryland.
