Those responsible for picking out the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree has already selected the tree for later this year. The tree known as “The People’s Tree” will come from the Monongahela National Forest. The first ever Capitol Christmas Tree was also from West Virginia back in 1970, then again in the bicentennial year of 1976.
