Cumberland resident Benjamin Anastasio was taken into custody, following a New Year’s Eve incident, in which he escaped from a medical facility to which he had been court-committed. Area law enforcement agencies responded to the area of Fisher Lane and Williams Road; Anastasio had been tracked to a Fisher Lane residence, where he was found, trying to break into a home. He was taken back to the medical facility, but later charged with disorderly conduct, fourth-degree burglary, and two counts of malicious destruction of property. The warrant was served on him Wednesday, and he received a District Court appearance.
