Cumberland resident Jesse Lee Benner faces several charges, following his arrest early yesterday morning in the 300-block of Furnace Street. Benner had allegedly assaulted one of the residents there and became upset and aggressive with police. There was a struggle between him and the police. He was taken to Central Booking and was to have received an initial hearing in District Court. Among the counts lodged against him was not only assault, but disorderly conduct, intoxicated public disturbance, resisting arrest, and obstructing and hindering.
