JUDGE ORDERS CLERGY ABUSE CASE SEALED

The legal battle over whether to release a nearly 500-page investigation into child sexual abuse within the Archdiocese of Baltimore will remain out of the public eye.  A Baltimore judge ordered all court proceedings, communications and documents in the case sealed.  The ruling comes after a group of unnamed people filed to keep the report confidential.  The Archdiocese is paying legal fees for the group, but says it is not opposed to the release of the report by the Maryland Attorney General’s Office.  The AG’s office filed a motion last month to have the report released publicly.
