MONKEYPOX CLAIMS MARYLAND RESIDENT

Monkeypox has claimed the life of a Maryland resident.  State health officials say the victim was immunocompromised which resulted in more of a severe case.  Deputy Secretary for Public Health Services Dr. Jinlene Chan said that eligible Marylanders should get the monkeypox vaccine as soon as possible.  MD Health says they will not provide any other information in this case to protect the identity of the person.
