MCGRATH ATTORNEY REQUESTS TRIAL DELAY

Governor Larry Hogan’s former chief of staff is asking for a postponement of his criminal trial.  According to the Baltimore Sun, defense attorney Joe Murtha says Roy McGrath lives in Florida and is not allowed to look at discovery documents while out of state.  McGrath’s trial is set to start Monday and the judge has ordered prosecutors to respond to the request today.  McGrath allegedly forged a document to make it appear that the governor approved a 233-thousand-dollar severance from the Maryland Environmental Service so he could leave and become chief of staff.
