DEMOCRATIC CHAIR PUSHING JUSTICE ON POT PARDONS

The Chairman of the West Virginia State Democratic party is pushing Governor Justice to follow the lead from President Biden.  Mike Pushkin is asking the governor to pardon those who have been convicted for simple cannabis possession.  According to the House member from Kanawha County, in 2020 more than eight-thousand marijuana arrests were made, and 277 were sent to jail for simple possession.  And African Americans in the state are more than seven times more likely to be arrested than a white person.
