Country music legend Shania Twain will host the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, NBCUniversal announced this morning. Twain will lead the two-hour live ceremony from Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, airing on NBC and Peacock.
CMA Releases Statement On Passing Of Bonsall
The Country Music Association is remembering Joe Bonsall. The tenor singer for the Oak Ridge Boys died Tuesday after battling ALS. CMA CEO Sarah Trahern called Bonsall “an incomparable voice and energy in music.” She credited the iconic band for helping to develop the genre into a worldwide sensation. Bonsall was 76.
Kenny Chesney Earns 36th No. 1
Kenny Chesney is celebrating his 36th hit single. “Take Her Home” is number one this week on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. That means the Knoxville native has 61 top-ten singles under his belt. If he gains one more, he’ll beat out the King, George Strait, who currently reigns supreme.
