FORMER UPMC DOCTOR ACCUSED OF TRYING TO KILL WIFE IN HAWAII

A former UPMC doctor is facing charges for allegedly trying to kill his wife in Hawaii.  Honolulu police say 46-year-old Gerhardt Konig struck the woman in the head with a rock and tried to push her off a hiking trail at the Pali Lookout Monday morning.  The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition, according to authorities.  Konig’s LinkedIn profile shows he attended  the Pitt School of Medicine and was employed as an anesthesiologist at UPMC before going to work in Hawaii sometime after March of 2023.
