Maryland Republican Congressman Andy Harris defended Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Elon Musk during a telephone town hall on Tuesday evening. Thousands of people took part in the town hall and Harris told them Hegseth was not to blame for including the editor of The Atlantic magazine in Monday’s group chat on an unsecured platform. He does not believe Hegseth knew a journalist was on the chat. The First District representative says President Trump is fortunate to have somebody of the caliber of Elon Musk. Harris told participants if people were satisfied with the federal government, they wouldn’t have elected Donald Trump who promised to increase efficiency in federal government.
