MD. A.G. SAYS TRUMP’S TRANSGENDER ORDER THREATENS LIVES

Maryland’s attorney general is criticizing President Trump’s executive order rolling back federal protections for transgender individuals.  The order signed Monday says the government will only recognize a person’s sex at birth.  The order also ends federal support for transition health services and requires federal prisoners to be segregated by sex rather than gender identity.  Attorney General Anthony Brown said the order ignores the “humanity and reality of transgender Americans” and “threatens people’s lives.”  Brown promised to use his office to fight for the rights and safety of all Marylanders, including those in the transgender community.
