MAN SENTENCED FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Scherr,West Virginia resident Nathan Ryan Willis was sentenced to 3 years in jail, but with 18 months of that sentence suspended, after pleading guilty to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. The remaining time of his sentence will be served in the Garrett County Detention Center. Willis was stopped on the Garrett Highway in August of 2023; subsequent testing showed that his Blood Alcohol Content was .20, or 2-1/2 times the legal limit. State’s Attorney Christian Mash pointed out that Willis had prior convictions for DUI offenses.
