GOVERNOR RELEASES BUDGET PROPOSAL

Two-thirds of Marylanders will see an average tax cut of 173 dollars under a budget proposal unveiled by Governor Wes Moore on Wednesday.  The spending plan adds higher tax brackets for those earning more than 500-thousand dollars as the governor attempts to close a nearly three-billion-dollar budget deficit.  The budget also adds a one-percent surcharge on capital gains taxes.  While the inheritance tax would be eliminated, taxes would go up on sports betting, table games and recreational marijuana.
