O’MALLEY RESIGNS AS S.S.A. HEAD; SEEKS D.N.C. POST

Former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley is stepping down as commissioner of the Social Security Administration.  O’Malley submitted his resignation to President Biden to run for chairman of the Democratic National Committee.  His resignation is effective on November 29th.  O’Malley served as Maryland governor from 2007 to 2015 following two terms as Baltimore mayor.  He also sought the Democratic nomination for president in 2016.
