OAKLAND RESIDENT CONVICTED OF 2ND-DEGREE ASSAULT

Oakland resident Scott Matthew Dawson has been convicted of second degree assault, stemming from a June 30th incident. Dawson is accused of attacking an older man, shoving him, and tackling him to the ground. The victim suffered two fractured ribs. Dawson was ordered to undergo a pre-sentence psychiatric evaluation prior to sentencing, and he remains held without bond at the Garrett County Detention Center.
