The Allegany County Commissioners agreed to pursue transfer of the former Western Maryland Works Training Center and Makerspace on Lane Avenue in La Vale. The Cumberland Times-News states that since 2018, the College has operated the facility and has leased the property from the county. The commissioners plan to officially approve the $850,000 deal in the near future. The building is the site of the former Economy Grocers Warehouse, and was created to fill local manufacturing and technology jobs with trained employees.
