BALTIMORE TO RECEIVE MILLIONS FROM JUUL SETTLEMENT

Baltimore is receiving millions of dollars from a settlement over e-cigarettes.  The city filed suit against JUUL Labs in 2020, alleging its products and deceptive marketing campaigns aimed at minors endangered the health of residents.  Under the agreement JUUL has the option of making a single payment of seven-point-five-million dollars by the end of 2024, or three payments totaling eight million over the next three years.  Mayor Brandon Scott notes Baltimore opted out of a global settlement that would have paid the city only one-point-nine-million dollars.
